• * DURATION: 3-month assignment with the possibility of extension
• * WORK SCHEDULE:
• Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Pay Rate: $35.00/hr - $40.00/hr. (depending upon experience)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse – Specialty Pharmacy Support is responsible for counseling and educating new and existing patients on specialty drug therapies. This role supports patient adherence, ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting requirements, and provides accurate documentation in accordance with industry standards. The position plays a critical role in patient education, safety monitoring, and coordination of care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Counsel and educate patients on specialty drug therapies.
• Support adherence to contracted requirements and accrediting regulations based on drug specifications.
• Complete thorough, accurate documentation using good documentation practices and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Educate patients on potential and current side effects and discuss treatment alternatives to promote therapy adherence.
• Identify and report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) to manufacturers, the FDA, and other governing authorities as required.
• Communicate effectively with patients and internal teams to support continuity of care.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Education: Associate, Bachelor’s, or higher degree in Nursing, or an accredited nursing diploma.
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, unrestricted compact state license or primary North Carolina licensure.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 3–5 years of post-graduate experience in pharmacy operations, clinical oversight, and patient care.
• Preferred: 5+ years of nursing experience preferred, with at least 1 year of acute inpatient care preferred.
