Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Department: Clinical
Reports to: Medical Director
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in providing exceptional care and support to patients dealing with chemical dependency and mental health challenges. As a vital member of our medical team, you will educate patients about their conditions, foster meaningful relationships, and help streamline operations within our Medical Department and Medication Administration Program.
Education and Experience:
• Valid RN license in good standing (unless in a state with Nursing Licensure Compact)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a chemical dependency, substance abuse, psychiatric setting, or human services
• Completion of TB testing upon hire
• Successful completion of Background and Drug screening
• Training or certifications in CPR, HIPAA, HIV/AIDS, Verbal De-Escalation, Harassment/Discrimination, and other required areas as stipulated by the State or the Joint Commission
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments while adhering to standard nursing procedures
• Assess and monitor patients' physical and mental conditions
• Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff
• Document patient status, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records
• Report patient symptoms and progress to the clinical supervisor or charge nurse
• Propose and implement changes to improve patient care after discussing with doctors when necessary
• Participate in the development and execution of nursing care service standards, policies, and procedures
• Engage in continuous training and in-services
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Ability to manage stress and adapt to changing departmental needs
• Knowledge of DCF and TJC standards
• Adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality regulations
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of patient confidentiality laws
• Commitment to Drug-Free Workplace policies
• Completion of Harassment and Discrimination training
• Familiarity with Corporate Integrity and Compliance Programs
• Understanding of Substance Use Disorder and competency in related training and assessments
• Knowledge of COWS/CIWA protocols
• Awareness of community resources for patient support
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands essential for this role include the ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds, frequent conversations, standing, walking, and occasional physical tasks such as reaching, climbing, or balancing.
Working Conditions and Environment:
• Work environments may involve moderate noise levels and both indoor and outdoor settings.
• Potential exposure to aggressive situations or infectious diseases.
