Job Summary
The Community Behavioral Health Hospital in Alexandria is seeking a compassionate, person-centered Registered Nurse Supervisor to join our team! As the RN Supervisor you will serve as a leader and resource for nursing staff and other employees to ensure appropriate levels of skilled clinical nursing care is provided to patients.
The CBHH is a small (16-bed) inpatient psychiatric facility for adults experiencing acute mental health episodes. The length of stay is usually less than 60 days, during which treatment focuses on rapid assessment, stabilization, patient education, and discharge planning involving community support resources, with the overall goal of preventing future episode.
Responsibilities include:
• Coordinate the delivery of nursing services within the program and provide direct nursing care in the absence of a RN
• Ensure unit staffing needs are met by appropriate utilization of staff, posting schedules, and observing and tracking overtime
• Supervise and oversee nursing staff in the facility
• Contribute to and participate in the safety and security for the facility, patients served, and co-workers by following and applying all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify, you must have current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota; AND
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, plus three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience, including at least two (2) years as a charge Registered Nurse; OR
• Associate degree or diploma in nursing, plus four (4) years of Registered Nurse experience, including at least two (2) years as a charge Registered Nurse.
Preferred Qualifications
• Supervisory experience in a residential or hospital setting
• Experience working with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness patients in a residential or hospital setting
• Experience preparing nursing teams, sections, or units for accreditation and/or licensing surveys
• Experience with conflict management
