EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As a Registered Nurse Supervisor for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for the supervision of personnel in the performance of all clinical and administrative duties related to nursing services for your assigned institution. You will be responsible for ensuring that adequate coverage is provided on all shifts and approving or disapproving leave requests, scheduling personnel, and authorizing overtime for all clinical personnel. You will be reviewing and evaluating the educational and training needs for subordinates, planning and conducting training and arranging for further education and training to enhance nursing skills. You will be performing duties of a working supervisor, assisting the clinical staff in performing duties during peak work load periods and absences of personnel and carrying out all other general and nursing related duties for which certifiable training and licensure has been received. Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekThe Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.1st shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm; 2nd shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm; and 3rd shift: 10:00 pm to 6:30 am.Work hours to be determined.Alternative work schedules may be available, depending on operational needs.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $100,523.00 (before taxes).You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
