Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor provides for coordinated, goal oriented clinical operations of the Nursing/Medical Clinic at Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF)-Red Wing, including medical, nursing, dental, laboratory and medical records services. This position assesses, plans, implements, monitors and evaluates all operational and clinical functions; directs and manages the overall coordination and delivery of all functions in the provision of health care to facility incarcerated individuals; and collaborates and provides input to the Director of Clinical Operations in the application of fiscal, human, and technical resources to respond to facility current and long-range health care needs.

Minimum Qualifications
To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota that is current, active, and without restrictions, limitations, or conditions.
• Three (3) years of nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, and/or correctional setting. (Note: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.)
• Demonstrated leadership experience, which may include experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, or completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g., ELI or SLI).
• Communication and human relation skills sufficient to communicate effectively with others and guide and direct staff.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
• Experience as a supervisor in a healthcare setting.
• Experience working in a correctional or secured setting.
• Experience in specialized clinical area(s), such as in gender-specific, geriatric, juvenile health care, medical/surgery unit, and/or behavioral health.
• Experience in developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required for this position. These components consist of a tuberculosis screening and/or respirator clearance. Additional Requirements
The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
