This position involves working under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator, where you will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care according to unit policies. You will also supervise non-RN personnel and may be required to work on various nursing units depending on patient and staff distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Continuously assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions throughout their care continuum.
• Develop, communicate, and document personalized care plans in collaboration with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
• Implement and coordinate care plans and evaluate their effectiveness, making adjustments as needed.
• Plan educational opportunities based on individual patient and family learning needs and document outcomes.
• Serve as a preceptor to new staff and take charge nurse responsibilities as required.
• Maintain high performance expectations in customer service, teamwork, and self-development.
• Demonstrate competency in caring for neuro patients and assisting during special neuro procedures.
• Perform airway management and suctioning as per established policies.
• Manage patient care for those on ventilators and in halo braces.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN is preferred. Proficient in electronic patient records and able to utilize the internet for patient care literature searches.

Licensure:
Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License.
Special Skills:
BLS certification required.
Additional Information:
Previous Med/Surg RN experience is essential.
