The RN will practice within the scope of the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and adhere to the standards outlined by the American Nurses Association. Responsibilities
• Utilize the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver competent nursing care.
• Collect and analyze patient data to identify actual and potential health issues.
• Develop, modify, and implement individualized care plans to achieve desired outcomes.
• Coordinate care delivery and transitions, ensuring effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Engage in health teaching and promotion strategies.
• Continuously evaluate patient progress towards health outcomes.
• Exemplify professional performance standards in ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practices, and quality improvement.
Qualifications
Education
Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. BCLS certification required within one month of hire.
Experience
Intraoperative nursing experience is required, with a strong preference for candidates with cardiac OR experience.
Licensure
Must hold a current RN license in Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification is encouraged.
Special Skills
All RNs are invited to advance through our SPIRE clinical advancement program.
Physical Demands
The position requires prolonged standing, walking, and the ability to assist with patient lifting and movement. Exposure to infectious diseases, physical and emotional challenges, as well as end-of-life scenarios is expected. Candidates must be able to lift patients weighing from five to three hundred pounds frequently throughout their shift.

Intraoperative RN experience is essential, with a preference for cardiac OR specialty.
