Our mission is to improve the health of our communities through coordinated, high-quality care. A4 is a 31-bed pre and post-op inpatient surgical unit dedicated to delivering exceptional care. Our team, composed of both new and experienced nurses along with nursing leaders and healthcare professionals, operates in a fast-paced and supportive environment. The unit cares for patients recovering from various surgical procedures, including orthopedic, bariatric, GI, women's health, and general surgeries. Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, you will demonstrate clinical competence through the nursing process and a strong nurse-patient relationship. Your responsibilities will include assessing patient needs, establishing care plans, and implementing and evaluating care provided. Qualifications • Graduate of a nursing school; BSN preferred. • One (1) year of RN experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program. • Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire. • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
