Shift Detail: 7p-730a, 36 hours weekly. Every other weekend, rotating holidays.

Backus Hospital, established in 1893, serves as the primary healthcare provider for much of Eastern Connecticut. We house the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties and offer LIFE STAR helicopter services. A4 is a 31-bed pre and post-op inpatient surgical unit dedicated to delivering exceptional care. Our team, composed of both new and experienced nurses along with nursing leaders and healthcare professionals, operates in a fast-paced and supportive environment. The unit cares for patients recovering from various surgical procedures, including orthopedic, bariatric, GI, women's health, and general surgeries. We are proud to be recognized as an Advanced Total Joint and Advanced Spine center of excellence by the Joint Commission, reflecting our unwavering commitment to quality. Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse, you will demonstrate clinical competence through the nursing process and a strong nurse-patient relationship. Your responsibilities will include assessing patient needs, establishing care plans, and implementing and evaluating care provided.
Qualifications
• Graduate of a nursing school; BSN preferred.
• One (1) year of RN experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
