Registered Nurse - Telemetry Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Telemetry unit provides direct patient care, monitors vital signs, administers medications, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This position requires a strong understanding of telemetry monitoring and cardiac conditions, as well as excellent communication and critical-thinking skills. Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. • Monitor vital signs and telemetry readings, and promptly report any changes or abnormalities. • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. • Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans. • Educate patients and families about their conditions and treatment plans. • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record (Epic). • Respond to Rapid Response and Code teams as needed. • Perform phlebotomy and manage IVs, central lines, and PICC lines. • Provide wound care and manage surgical drains. • Manage patients with feeding tubes, renal failure, and PCA pumps. • Care for ventilated patients and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs). • Provide tracheostomy care and management. • Administer blood products. • Adhere to isolation precautions and use appropriate PPE. • Float within the facility and scope of practice as needed. Required Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia (GA) or compact state. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification. • Experience with Epic charting system. Preferred Qualifications • Previous travel nursing experience. • Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring.
