
Registered Nurse - UM/UR - Full-time in Shreveport, LA
Job Description
Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Utilization Management (UM) and Utilization Review (UR) to join the team of one of our DoD clients. In this role, you will assess patient care, collaborate with healthcare providers, and ensure compliance with quality standards and policies. This position is essential for promoting efficient healthcare delivery and optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of clinical records for appropriateness and necessity of care
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care
• Facilitate care transitions and discharge planning processes
• Monitor healthcare services to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
• Educate patients and families about care management processes and available resources
Schedule:
• Monday through Friday
• 9-hour workdays between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM
• One-hour lunch break
• No weekends or holidays
Requirements
• ASN degree from an accredited college or university
• AHA or ARC BLS Certification
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in Utilization Management or Utilization Review
• Certification in Utilization Review or Case Management preferred (but not required)
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
