RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee daily nursing operations on the unit while collaborating closely with the Director of Nursing (DON). • Supervise, delegate, and coordinate care provided by nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs). • Conduct regular rounds to assess residents' physical and emotional well-being; perform daily visits to monitor their conditions. • Administer direct nursing care as needed, including starting IVs and collecting lab specimens (e.g., sputum, urine). • Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents, working effectively with the interdisciplinary team. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all residents' medical statuses and any changes, including physician's orders and care interventions. • Communicate proactively with residents' families or POAs and attending physicians regarding status updates and condition changes. • Ensure that assessments (e.g., MDS) and resident care plans are completed promptly. QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut. • Graduate of an accredited college nursing program. • Current CPR/BLS certification as required by facility policy. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, and the care team. • Compassionate, resident-centered approach with strong organizational and time-management skills. • Experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment is preferred. • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
