Hourly range for Registered Nurses $41.78-$64.81/hour

Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour

Night Shift Differential- $4.00 / hour

Day Shift Weekend Differential- $2.90 / hour

Evening Shift Weekend Differential- $5.90 / hour

Night Shift Weekend Differential- $6.90 / hour

Charge Nurse Differential- $1.00 / hour

8D

Our Patient and Families

8D is a 20-bed, Progressive Critical Care unit which provides care for critical and moderate care medical-surgical patients, as well as those patients who are in transition from ICU to general care and rehabilitation floors. Our patient population requires highly skilled nursing care for the acute and chronic ventilated patient as well as those patients who have difficulties weaning from ventilator support. We care for a broad variety of medical diagnosis and service many different medical teams in the institution.

Our nurses and technical support staff are highly motivated and skilled in providing care to our acutely ill and medical-surgical patient population. We have a diverse group of nurses with a broad range of experience who possess a wide array of medical knowledge and background to bring to our team. The nurses on 8D take great pride in caring for our patients with a team and interdisciplinary approach, as well as utilizing the holistic nursing process to inspire our patients to a healthy recovery.

Nursing Specific Info

Salary & Nursing Framework Level

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.

Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.

Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Required Qualifications*

Current Michigan RN license

GN's may be considered for this position.

In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

Desired Qualifications*
• BSN preferred
• Six (6) months to One (1) year Acute Care RN experience preferred
• ICU RN experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully resolve conflicts as demonstrated by current employment experience
• One (1) year charge nurse experience
• One (1) year of current ventilator experience
• Current PCTA experience

Work Schedule

Hours: 36 hours per week,

Shift: Nights,12hr shifts

Location: 8D-Progressive Critical Care Unit

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
