Registered Nurse-Vascular Lab in Archer Lodge, NC

Overall Responsibility:

TheRegistered Nurse is responsible for organizing patient care from admission to the facility, peri-procedure care, recovery care following the procedure, and preparation for discharge. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the achievement of patient outcomes through implementation of a nursing care plan and in accordance with the mission of the Facility.

Key tasks and responsibilities (essential functions)
• Coordinates patient care though a continuum and facilitates the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to care, quality and cost effectiveness;
• Carry out prescribed physician orders and document in patient medical record;
• Provides proper care and evaluation of pre/peri/post procedural patients;
• Assesses patients using the nursing process as a basis for professional practice;
• Utilize appropriate nursing personnel to assist in delivery of care when indicated (e.g., paraprofessionals);
• Circulates for Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory procedures, assists the physicians’ performing procedures
• Maintains open communication lines, both intra-departmentally and interdepartmentally, to provide for total needs of the patient;
• Instruct patient/family regarding prescribed medications/therapies and invasive/diagnostic procedures that must be accomplished;
• Obtain patient history, pertinent family history, and document in patient’s medical record;
• Ability to react with alertness and skill in any emergency situation, (e.g., cardiac or respiratory arrest, hemorrhage, and shock);
• Assess patient/family knowledge level, implement plan of instructions and record patient/family demonstrated level of understanding;
• Participate in Discharge Planning as appropriate;
• Assist in maintaining cardiac catheterization laboratory programs such as safety, infection control, supply, radiation safety, etc.
• Educate and train new Cardiovascular Laboratory Nurses and Staff;
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Complies with North Carolina Vascular Center and its partners policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned

Licensure and Certification: Current Registered Nurse Licensure with the State of North Carolina. BLS required

Experience required: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program. Minimum of two-year Hospital Registered Nurse experience required. One-year experience in cardiac/vascular lab procedures, ICU, ED, PACU, or Stepdown preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour

License/Certification:
• NC Nurses License (Required)
