Department: Clinical Education Daily Work Times: Variable Shift : Casual Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 0 Position Summary: The Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOC) is responsible for providing consultation, education, and patient/resident care within specialty area following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of WOC Nursing practice. Assists to direct and coordinate the functions of the WOC nurse team. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Develops, implements, and evaluates clinical and administrative protocols, procedures, and guidelines for the wound, ostomy, and continence program across the continuum of care. 2. Participates in program budgeting, marketing, and promotional activities. 3. Demonstrates appropriate and effective supervision, delegation and mentorship skills. Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and a WOCN accredited WOC nursing education program. WOCNCB or Wound Care Certification (WCC) board certification within one year of hire. One year of medical/surgical professional nursing experience. Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license. BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN). Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Experience in WOC nursing. Experience in nursing education and nursing leadership roles.
