Position Type: PRN
Work Schedule: Day Shift, Monday-Friday to cover vacations and high census. Schedule made in advance, no last minute call. Flexible Hours.
What We're Looking For:
Education and Certifications
• Current RN license in good standing with the South Carolina State Board of Nursing
• Graduate of an accredited Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Education Program
• Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire
Experience
• 3–5 years of nursing experience preferred
• Strong understanding of complex wound management, ostomy care, and continence programs
What You'll Do:
Position Summary
The WOC Nurse serves as a clinical resource, educator, and consultant to the healthcare team in the management and implementation of care plans for patients with gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary disorders. Areas of clinical expertise include:
• Ostomies
• Fistulae
• Tubes
• Dermal wounds
• Incontinence management
This role focuses on optimizing outcomes through direct care, staff education, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. The WOC Nurse provides care for patients of all ages, but the primary focus will be adult and geriatric populations.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as a clinical expert and educator in wound, ostomy, and continence care
• Support the healthcare staff in developing and implementing individualized care plans
• Provide hands-on care for patients with complex wound or ostomy needs
• Consult on best practices and evidence-based protocols for skin integrity and wound prevention
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, education sessions, and patient discharge planning
Ensure compliance with clinical standards, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines
