Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a Wound Care RN , which is also referred to as a W ound C are, O stomy, or C ontinence N urse (WOC) . The Wound Care RN will specialize in assessing and treating skin breakdown and wounds in a clinic setting. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will also be consulted during a patients stay in a hospital for a wound or pressure injury, we are also consulted for ostomy care. The Wound Care RN will also be responsible for determining the proper course of treatment and interacting with services in the community to continually care for the wound care patient. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed .

Responsibilities
• * If you have experience in Wound Care, ICU, ER, Critical Care, Telemetry or Advanced Med Surg you are encouraged to apply! **
Essential Duties And Responsibilities (includes, But Not Limited To):
• A ssess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate the effectiveness of wound treatments
• A pply dressings and treatments to wounds, ensuring proper techniques to promote healing and prevent infection
• P rovide comprehensive patient care, including both inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric treatment
• E ducate patients and their families about wound care techniques and prevention strategies, teach proper care for ostomies and how to manage continence issues
• R egularly track the progress of wound healing, modify care plans as needed, ensure follow-up care, and support post-discharge, and provide emotional support to patients managing chronic wounds or ostomies
• I mplement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital, educate staff on proper wound care protocols and internal policies when needed
• S tay up to date on the latest wound care techniques, products, and research; participate in continuing education and professional development activities
• Interact with community resources to ensure continuity of care
• C linic nurses provide hyperbaric therapy to appropriate patients (RN training for hyperbaric therapy is provided)
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.
• BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience preferred (1 Year).
• Wound Care Certification within first year of hire Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) Certification preferred.
