What You'll Be Doing
• Uses the Nursing Process to plan, implement, direct, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Works collaboratively with all other disciplines on assigned unit.
• Consults, examines, selects and manages patients who could benefit from wound care and HBO therapy.
• Keeps a complete and accurate record pertaining to the indications, rationale and progress of the patient treatments utilizing both hospital forms and company software.
• Evaluate effectiveness of plan of care and modifies, as appropriate.
• Maintains communication with referring providers - physicians, podiatrists, nursing home, homecare agencies, etc.
• Conducts appropriate patient discharge, follow up and onward referrals. Assists with the adherence of patient care protocols for both Wound Care and Hyperbaric treatments.
• Ensures compliance to all hospital policies and procedures relating to orientations, evaluations, safety program and infection control.
• Demonstrate competency in core & unit-specific clinical skills. Directly assists in the management of patients with altered skin integrity (pressure necrosis, wounds, fistulas, etc); including, but not limited to nurse visits, application of wound vacs and performing MIST Therapy.
• Function as role model/preceptor for orientees, as assigned; cooperate in providing experiences for affiliating students.]
• HIPAA Compliance – complies with all of the Privacy and Confidentiality Policy and Procedures outlined in the “Privacy, Security and Confidentiality Agreement
• Process and utilize all computerized patient care functions, e.g. ADT, diagnostic test results, etc.
• Adheres to all Patient Safety Initiatives and Infection Control Procedures as outlined in the hospitals safety manual. Appropriate use of Hospital resources - supplies and equipment.
• Provide hyperbaric chamber operations and maintenance as required.
• Consistently acknowledges the patient, introduces self to the patient, informs the patient of the expected duration of today’s contact, provides an explanation of the service to be provided and how to bring forward any concerns and final, thanks the patient for their patronage.
What We're Looking For
Per Diem, Day shift
• Associates in Nursing. BSN preferred.
• New Jersey Registered Nurse License required.
• BLS (AHA) required
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience required.
