Summary
RN-Med-Surge-3-North
Full-Time, FTE .9, 36 hrs. I Third Shift
BHCOR-Cor 3 North I Corbin, KY
3 Med Surge is a 36-bed unit providing care for patients with both medical and surgical diagnosis. The population served is Adolescent to geriatric patients. 3-Med Surg will care for medical and surgical patients.
Performs care requiring substantial specialized knowledge, judgement and nursing skills based upon the principles of psychological, biological, physical and social sciences in the application of the nursing process. Utilizes high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards. Must possess ability to supervise LPNs, CNAs, Techs, Unit Secretaries, and Clinical students. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.

• Customer relations and healing environment.
• On callrequirementweekends/holidayspickedby rotation.
• Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
• Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, criticalthinkingand creativity.
• Mustpossessabilityto supervise and delegateappropriate workto Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.
RequirementsRegisteredNurse:
• Current RN licensureandwork permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Basic Life Support required. New employees requiring CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association should receive (CPR) training within the first week of orientation.
• Glucometer Training
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
• Basic Cardiac Arrythmia
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Aegis Training
• Wound Care Training
