Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Department: Clinical

Reports to: Medical Director

Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in caring for and educating patients about their conditions. You will work closely with our Medical team to facilitate the smooth operation of the Medical Department and Medication Administration Program. Your ability to establish trust and rapport with patients will greatly enhance their experience and care.

Education and Experience:
• Valid RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a chemical dependency, substance abuse, psychiatric, or human services setting.
• Completion of TB testing upon hiring.
• Background and Drug screening required.
• Training or certifications in CPR, HIPAA, HIV/AIDS, Verbal De-Escalation, Harassment/Discrimination, Infection/STD Risks, HEP B/C, and more as required by the State or Joint Commission.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Administer prescribed medication and medical treatments following standard nursing practices.
• Assess and monitor patients' physical and mental conditions.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, their families, and healthcare staff.
• Document and maintain patient records accurately, utilizing necessary computer skills.
• Report patient symptoms, reactions, and progress to clinical supervisors, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
• Initiate changes to improve patient care and discuss these changes with the physicians as needed.
• Participate in the development and implementation of nursing care policies and procedures.
• Engage in ongoing training and in-service opportunities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexibly in stressful environments.
• Knowledge of DCF and TJC standards.
• Adhere to all privacy regulations, including HIPAA.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality laws.
• Familiarity with Drug Free Workplace Policies.
• Completion of Harassment and Discrimination training.
• Knowledge of current technologies and software used in healthcare.
• Understanding of Substance Use Disorders with a proficiency test score of 70% or higher.
• Familiarity with community resources available for patient support.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands include frequently lifting up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. You will be required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and sit; occasional hand use for handling and reaching will also be required. Working Conditions and Environment:
• The typical noise level in the work environment is moderate.
• This position may require both indoor and outdoor work, with potential exposure to aggressive situations.
• Exposure to airborne/blood-borne pathogens and other infectious diseases may occur.
