Overview
Our Progressive Care Unit is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team on night shift. This unit provides complex, high-acuity care with a strong cardiac focus including post–cardiac intervention monitoring, arrhythmia management, and titration of cardiac-related therapies. Responsibilities
The RN will demonstrate safe, evidence-based practice while performing the following:
• Facilitates, implements, and evaluates individualized Patient Plans of Care and outcomes in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Serves as a patient advocate and promotes positive patient outcomes through timely implementation of nursing interventions.
• Demonstrates strong technical skills and clinical competence in all aspects of patient care delivery.
• Uses critical thinking and sound clinical judgment to assess, analyze, and communicate patient data promptly.
• Accurately and timely documents patient assessments, interventions, responses, and provider communication in accordance with policy.
• Identifies patient safety risk factors and implements specific safety interventions related to skin integrity, fall prevention, and safe restraint use as appropriate.
• Maintains medication safety practices and completes all required Safety Tracking Tools.
• Delegates and supervises assigned team members appropriately while ensuring accountability for all patient care delivered.
• Addresses and reports team performance issues to maintain safe and effective care delivery.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of learning needs for patients and families; provides written and verbal education and documents accordingly.
• Reviews, initiates, and implements provider orders every shift in a timely manner.
• Prioritizes competing responsibilities and patient needs effectively; demonstrates independent problem-solving and efficient multitasking.
• Maintains professional accountability, seeks opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge, and actively participates in unit-based councils and performance improvement initiatives.
• Completes all assigned education, required competencies, and supports unit-wide quality and safety goals.
Qualifications
• 2 years nursing experience caring for Step Down level of care patients including cardiothoracic surgery patients, preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Education

• BSN preferred
