Job Description
The Registered Professional Nurse IV (Clinical Coordinator) provides clinical leadership and hands-on patient care in a rural outpatient clinic environment. This role supports daily clinic operations, coordinates nursing staff and services, and ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality care for primary care, urgent care, and specialty patients.
Job Duties
• Coordinate and support daily clinic operations, including staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization
• Provide direct patient care, including assessments, treatments, care coordination, and patient education
• Serve as a clinical resource for providers and staff to ensure smooth patient flow and quality outcomes
• Assist with staff orientation, competency assessments, performance feedback, and development
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and respond appropriately to emergencies
Education Required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is highly desirable
License & Certification
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Hawaii
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within one month of hire
Experience Required
• Minimum of 1.5 years of professional nursing experience
• Inpatient or outpatient surgical/clinic experience preferred

• Rates listed for paid holidays, vacation and sick days are for 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions assigned to 8 hour shifts. Accruals for these benefits are otherwise prorated based on FTE.
Employees working as Registered Professional Nurse IVs will receive step movement salary increases based on total recent RN experience (within the past 5 years) and satisfactory service with the employer. Based on the 7/1/2025 salary schedule and Bargaining Unit 9 collective bargaining agreement, Registered Nurse IVs will receive pay increases according to the following schedule:
• $121,404 → $126,276: Eligible after 3+ months with the employer and a total of 12+ months RN experience.
• $121,404 → $131,316: Eligible after 3+ months with the employer and a total of 18+ months RN experience.
• $121,404 → $136,584: Eligible after 3+ months with the employer and a total of 24+ months RN experience.
Pre-Employment Health Requirements
Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
