Provide expert nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity medical surgical and post-operative unit. This contract opportunity is ideal for registered nurses with acute care experience who thrive in dynamic team environments focused on quality patient outcomes. Work a structured 12-hour shift schedule with every other weekend rotation, supporting complex patients including those with cardiac, trauma, and critical care needs. Key Responsibilities • Deliver direct nursing care to high-acuity patients on a 44-bed unit with embedded intermediate care beds. • Manage advanced equipment such as IVs, PCA pumps, epidurals, Ketamine drips, wound VAC dressings, and specialty beds. • Monitor and care for patients with central lines, PICCs, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and various drains. • Utilize electronic medical records (EPIC) to document patient information accurately. • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care. • Adapt to float assignments as needed within the facility. Qualifications & Experience • Valid RN license. • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience, preferably in a high-acuity or cardiac setting. • Current BLS certification. • Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex patient conditions. • Detail-oriented, adaptable, accountable, and a proactive learner. Schedule • 7 AM to 7:30 PM or 7 PM to 7:30 AM shifts. • 36 guaranteed weekly hours. • Every other weekend required; no on-call duties.
