A registered nurse opportunity is available on a high-acuity medical-surgical / postoperative unit in Portland, ME. This contract position involves working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment providing acute care to diverse patients, including those with complex cardiovascular needs. Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care to high-acuity medical-surgical and cardiovascular patients. • Manage infusion pumps, epidurals, PCA devices, and complex wound care, including wound vacs and specialty dressings. • Monitor and care for patients with critical lines such as central lines, PICCs, chest tubes, and PEG tubes. • Collaborate efficiently in a team environment focused on patient safety and quality outcomes. • Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for documentation and communication. • Float to other units as needed to support patient care demands. Qualifications / Desired Experience • Current RN licensure with at least 2 years recent acute care experience in a high-acuity setting is required. • Prior experience with cardiovascular patients is strongly preferred. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Ability to work both 7a-7 : 30p and 7p-7 : 30a shifts with every other weekend coverage. • A quick learner with flexibility, accountability, and strong teamwork skills.
