Job Description
A healthcare position is available for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care. This contract role is based in Auburn, Maine, serving patients in specialized units including memory care, transitional rehabilitation, and long-term care.
In this role, the RN collaborates directly and indirectly with residents and care teams to ensure a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. Units you may work on include:
• A 31-bed memory care unit focused on Alzheimer's and dementia, utilizing tailored communication and behavioral techniques.
• A 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit providing post-acute care for patients recovering from surgeries, strokes, or injuries, involving IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessments.
• A 42-bed Long-Term Care Unit serving residents requiring extended placement in a home-like setting.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license for the State of Maine or compact licensure
• 1-3 years of nursing experience, preferably with medical terminology knowledge
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to cover 24/7 schedules and float between units
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility and cannot have previous employment with this medical center. Orientation includes up to 16 unpaid hours. The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts during the 13-week contract period.
