This position offers an opportunity to provide compassionate nursing care in specialized rehabilitation and long-term care settings at a reputable medical center. The registered nurse (RN) will deliver both direct and indirect care to residents, partnering with them and other healthcare providers to foster a safe, therapeutic, and comfortable environment. Responsibilities: • Provide skilled nursing care in specialized units, including Alzheimer's/dementia care, transitional rehabilitation, and long-term care. • Administer IV therapy, wound care, and conduct geriatric assessments. • Utilize verbal and non-verbal communication techniques tailored to residents' needs, especially those with cognitive impairments. • Collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. • Demonstrate flexibility by covering shifts 24/7 and floating between units as required. Qualifications: • Associate’s degree in Nursing. • Valid RN license from the state or compact license recognized in Maine. • 1 to 3 years of prior RN experience preferred. • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. • Strong teamwork and communication skills essential. • Ability to adapt and remain flexible to meet the needs of various units and schedules. Location: Situated in Augusta, Maine, this contract role offers work in a supportive healthcare community known for its rich cultural heritage and scenic landscapes. Augusta provides a balanced lifestyle with access to outdoor activities, local arts, and amenities while maintaining a welcoming small-city atmosphere. Additional Information: • Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid. • The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract. • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius. • Previous employees and those with licensure conflicts are not eligible for consideration.
