Job Description
A rewarding opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with experience in rehabilitation and long-term care nursing. This contract position offers the chance to work in a 160-bed skilled nursing facility with a diverse patient population ranging from individuals in their mid-30s to mid-90s. Patients have complex diagnoses including Huntington’s disease, dementia, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, coronary artery and vascular diseases, stroke, neuromuscular disorders, and rehabilitation needs.
Responsibilities include medication administration, IV therapy, feeding tube management, wound vac and wound care, trach and ostomy care, as well as therapy support. Nurses will care for up to 20 residents during each 12-hour shift, supported by certified nurse aides. The facility employs computerized medical record documentation (Meditech) and a medication administration system (MedRight), with use of various medical equipment such as VS towers, IV pumps, wound vacs, bladder scanners, and assistive devices.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg and Geriatric nursing experience
• Valid Wyoming or compact nursing license
• BLS certification required
• Experience with long-term care procedures including wound and trach care
Schedule:
• 12-hour shifts, including all shifts and weekends based on facility needs
Work Environment and Dress Code:
• Scrubs required
• Facial piercings not permitted; tattoos must be covered if full sleeve or deemed objectionable
