A nursing opportunity is available in inpatient rehabilitation within a well-equipped hospital setting. This contract role is suited for Registered Nurses with at least two years of hospital experience, particularly in Med/Surg or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) areas. The position requires a valid VA nursing license or compact license upon application and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Location: Located in Salem, Virginia, this role is based at a reputable medical center's inpatient rehab unit. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver nursing care to patients on a 35-bed inpatient rehab unit with patient ratios between 5-7:1. • Administer medications including IVs, PICC lines, PEG tube feeding, and blood transfusions. • Perform specialized procedures such as bladder scanning, tracheostomy care, Foley catheter management, and bladder irrigation. • Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team that includes physical, occupational, and speech therapists, physiatrists, physician assistants, and neuropsychologists. • Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech electronic health record system. • Work 12-hour shifts, covering every other weekend, with the possibility of floating to other medical-surgical departments as needed. Qualifications & Experience: • Minimum of 2 years’ hospital nursing experience required. • Licensed as an RN in Virginia or eligible via compact license. • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Experience in Med/Surg or PCU settings required; rehabilitation nursing experience preferred.
