Rehab/Long-Term Care Nurse (RN) | Wrangell, Alaska in Wrangell, AK

Key Responsibilities: • Deliver comprehensive nursing care for residents with multisystem diseases and complex healthcare needs, based on physician orders and established protocols. • Conduct thorough nursing assessments and develop care plans, continually evaluating resident progress and adjusting care as needed. • Lead shift teams by delegating tasks and supervising CNAs, LPNs, and support staff to ensure quality care standards. • Facilitate patient and family education, promoting understanding of treatment plans and coping strategies. • Maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality in compliance with policies and regulations. • Respond effectively in emergency situations with sound clinical judgment and calm decision-making. • Support unit management by acting as charge nurse when required and participating in staff meetings and ongoing education. Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or Diploma in Nursing). • Active, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or eligibility to apply for one prior to start. • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Minimum 1-2 years nursing experience preferred, ideally in rehab or long-term care. • Competency in clinical skills and high-risk nursing achieved within three months of hire. • Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking abilities. • Physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
