
RN - Acute In-Patient / Skilled Bed / Emergency Room - Nights - $68/hr in Springfield, CO
Job Description
Job Summary (List Format) Registered Nurse, Southeast Colorado Hospital
• Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Shares responsibilities between inpatient (IP) floor and Emergency Room (ER) with another RN; works collaboratively with CNA.
• Assesses patients' physical and psychosocial conditions on an ongoing basis.
• Develops individualized patient care plans involving patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Implements patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Evaluates patient outcomes, care effectiveness, and readiness for discharge; revises plans as needed.
• Completes accurate and timely documentation using manual and electronic systems.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
• Adheres to hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinates care with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals.
• Communicates patient care plans and significant changes to team members, patients, and families.
• Participates in performance improvement and risk management activities.
• Provides patient, family, and staff education as needed.
• Practices cost-effective use of supplies and equipment.
• Completes required training, education, and department-specific requirements.
• Complies with personal protective equipment and safety protocols.
• Attends meetings and in-service sessions as required.
• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
• Performs other assigned duties as necessary.
Emergency Room Specific Duties:
• Initiates timely assessments based on patient needs and physician diagnosis.
• Gathers information from patients, families, labs, and reports; documents using T-System.
• Performs ongoing assessments as patient condition changes.
• Administers therapeutic nursing interventions ordered by providers.
• Monitors and documents patient progress toward desired outcomes.
• Manages care for ER patients with diverse conditions and backgrounds.
• Reduces patient and family anxiety through effective communication and education.
• Maintains professional relationships and effective communication with healthcare team.
• Appropriately relays information via phone, pagers, and other devices.
Other Details:
• Shift: 36 hours/week, 3 shifts (6p-6a), with potential for overtime and holiday work.
• 8-week contract with possible extension.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, TNCC.
• Specialty: Critical Access Hospital RN.
