Position Summary Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Care 📍 Location: 1675 W. Position Summary The Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse provides patient care in settings where patients typically receive treatment and return home the same day or in post-acute transitional care environments. This role focuses on promoting wellness, restoring health, and supporting patients through situational health challenges or end-of-life care. Key Responsibilities • Utilize specialized ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence-based practices to develop individualized care plans. • Assess patient needs and deliver care appropriate to age and condition. • Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, and document patient care, including assessments, education, medication administration, and treatments. • Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment. • Prioritize patient care in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care. • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient conditions and unit concerns. • Maintain a safe, caring environment for patients and families. • Integrate patient and family education throughout care delivery. • Participate in process improvement activities and adhere to regulatory and accrediting standards. • Serve as a patient advocate and promote diversity and respect in all interactions. • Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and demonstrate punctual, regular attendance. Other Related Functions • Contribute to continuous improvement of healthcare practices and organizational outcomes. • Participate in unit-level and organizational committees, peer review, mentoring, and coaching. • Maintain efficient use of supplies and a clean, organized work environment. • Support staff development, nursing research, and performance management initiatives. • Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing education. Qualifications Education/Training • Graduate of an approved school of nursing. • Meets all mandatory, developmental, and competency requirements for Orlando Health and assigned unit/department. Licensure/Certification • Maintains current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. • ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas. Experience • Minimum 1 year of experience required, unless approved by AVP level or above.
