Job Description
A Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for performing the nursing process as a basis for patient care. RNs provide direction and oversight to other licensed and non-licensed staff, demonstrating compassion to recipients of services and coworkers. The role emphasizes integrity, stewardship, empowerment, diversity, and professional excellence, requiring excellent customer service and enthusiasm for the program.
Responsibilities
• Assess the care needs of persons served and develop a collaborative plan of care with an interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate nursing care in collaboration with physicians for individuals and groups.
• Teach patients and families, providing milieu management and education on discharge/aftercare planning needs.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for persons served and staff in individual and group settings.
• Document, report, and verify all necessary information according to established policies and procedures.
• Monitor for and report potential risks to patient safety to physicians.
• Create a customer-friendly environment, maintaining professionalism and positive relationships with coworkers and external customers.
• Provide care in various clinical settings for diverse populations, implementing person-centered, compassionate care.
• Function as a clinical leader, coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
• Utilize and review patient care protocols and standards of practice, contributing to process improvements.
• May be responsible for training direct care staff and oversight of medication and physical health activities.
• Model the organization's mission and values, providing holistic support to patients.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• 2 years of behavioral health experience (required)
• Current Michigan RN license
• BLS certification
