Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Specialty

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in psychiatric care. The primary role involves providing psychotherapy and counseling therapies to patients suffering from psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. The position requires demonstrated expertise in group, individual, and family therapies, while ensuring accurate and timely patient documentation.

Responsibilities
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling therapies to patients.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and outside referral sources, adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Actively participate in treatment planning and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Work with patients to set and achieve treatment plan goals, documenting progress and revising plans as appropriate.
• Work with the utilization review department on patient treatment and length of stay communications.
• Create thorough discharge plans that address patients’ aftercare needs and ensure proper paperwork is provided promptly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Must have at least 2 years of experience in a psychiatric setting.
• Required certifications include BLS and Handle With Care (HWC).

Schedule
• Shift: Nights 7 PM – 7 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
