Job Description
Essential Functions:
Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process (2010) for carrying out the following actions:
• Assembles extensive information that is relevant to the healthcare consumer's health and situation.
• Synthesize the assessment data to pinpoint the diagnosis or problems.
• Illustrates expected results for a plan tailored to the individual healthcare consumer's needs.
• Develops a plan that recommends approaches and different options to attain desired results.
• Executes the prescribed plan and facilitates the patient's progress within the plan.
• The coordination of care ensures the effective organization of healthcare delivery.
• Health teaching and promotion utilize techniques to support health and ensure a safe surrounding.
• Advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists engage in consultation to influence the determined plan, elevate the capabilities of individuals, and bring about change.
• Reviews the progress towards the accomplishment of goals.
Follows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):
• Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice through structured methods
• Demonstrates a level of knowledge and competency consistent with present-day nursing practice
• Examining one's nursing practice within the context of professional standards, guidelines, and legal requirements
• Communicates effectively to support and enrich the professional growth of colleagues
• Partners with patients, families, and other team members to optimize nursing practice
• The integration of ethical provisions is comprehensive across practice areas
• Translating research findings into practical approaches

Shows mastery in applying appropriate technology and software tools:
• Assist in documenting nursing tasks and the care provided to patients.
• Utilize necessary business tools, such as company email, iLearn modules, employee engagement surveys, and information about benefits and policies, to actively participate in the organization as a committed team member.
• Consistently strives to improve the quality of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem-solving methods.
• Fulfilling any other duties as required.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Regarding BLS certification:
The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.
Preferred:
Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing
Physical Requirements:
Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
