Job Description
The ER Nurse Educator is responsible for the development and implementation of educational programs for nursing staff in the emergency department. This role focuses on staff development, application of adult education principles, and consultation with healthcare providers. The educator collaborates with leadership and staff educators to support professional development initiatives and quality care standards.
Responsibilities
• Create orientation plans for new RNs in the department.
• Conduct weekly progress meetings with new hires and evaluate competencies.
• Manage the collection of all outstanding paperwork and compliance with e-learning.
• Assist in professional development classes and leadership initiatives.
• Integrate adult learning theory into nursing specialty education.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience, including at least 3 years in an Emergency Department.
• 2 years of education or teaching experience.
• Current NV RN license required prior to start.
• AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required; NIHSS required; TNCC, ENPC, or TCAR preferred.
• BSN required; MSN preferred.
