Roles & Responsibilities
• Design, select, and implement evidence-based curriculum and training for LTC staff
• Standardize and streamline clinical competency programs across sites
• Partner with clinical leaders to create training that improves patient care and supports staff growth
• Work closely with the CNA clinical educator to support preceptorships and new employee onboarding
• Coordinate student clinical experiences with academic partners (UAA and UAS)
• Evaluate educational activities and use data to improve professional development outcomes
• Serve as a liaison for clinical education opportunities across the consortium
• Participate collaboratively in team projects to extend clinical education across SEARHC sites
Qualifications
• BSN from an accredited school of Nursing
• Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state (Direct hire must have applied for an Alaska license before the start date)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for providers required
• BLS Instructor certification preferred or must be obtained within 1 year of hire
• Clinical Competency Assessment required (to be obtained within 3 months of hire and maintained per policy)
• 5 years of professional nursing experience, including a minimum of 2 years in long-term care
• 2 years of clinical instructor/educator experience (one year may be substituted with supervisory experience)
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30% of the time and to lift/move up to 50 lbs
Education
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from an accredited school of Nursing
Knowledge & Skills
• Strong knowledge of adult and geriatric patient care and LTC clinical practices
• Skilled in adult learning principles, curriculum development, and facilitation
• Experience with competency assessment and evaluation of educational activities
• Comfort with evidence-based practice and translating research into training
• Ability to collaborate with clinical leaders and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with education delivery tools and platforms such as TEAMS, Workday, Canva, Articulate, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
