Job Description
This highly recognized hospital is seeking an RN Director Women & Children to lead a vibrant, mission-driven team through an exciting period of growth and innovation in maternal, newborn, and pediatric care ✨. The RN Director Women & Children will join a 250+ bed acute care hospital and thrive in a community-focused organization aligned with a respected national network and supported by strong clinical governance and evidence-based practice. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and serving as the executive leader for Women’s and Children’s Services, this role leads managers and supervisors across Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, Pediatrics, NICU, education, and lactation, while partnering with physicians and advanced practice providers. Additionally, the position collaborates closely with anesthesia, quality, finance, case management, ancillary services, and hospital leadership to elevate operations and patient experience.
The RN Director Women & Children will guide a service line that includes a 12-bed Labor and Delivery unit, dedicated Postpartum care, a Newborn Nursery, Pediatrics, and a Level I NICU 👶.
The RN Director Women & Children provides strategic and operational leadership, aligning departmental goals with organizational objectives while advancing clinical education, mentoring, competency development, and continuous quality improvement. The role oversees budgeting, staffing models, scheduling, and resource allocation; ensures regulatory readiness and compliance with HIPAA and Joint Commission standards; strengthens physician relationships; and drives performance through data-informed decision-making. The RN Director Women & Children also supports internal and external audits, fosters professional growth, maintains high standards of patient experience, and ensures required certifications are current, in a full-time, exempt, benefited leadership role.
