Job Title: MedSurg Supervisor Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg Duration: Full-Time Shift: 8 Hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 3 years of Med Surg Nursing experience, 1 year of Nursing Leadership experience License: State of Alaska RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS from AHA Must-Have: Proficient acute care nursing knowledge and skills, proficient management of patients in a Med Surg setting Description: The Med-Surg Clinical Supervisor identifies education needs of individual staff members and the Med-Surg unit as a whole. The supervisor plans and implements educational offerings. The role includes conducting performance reviews. Collaboration with the Director to improve the overall performance of the Med-Surg department is essential. Oversight of the orientation and preceptorship of new employees is also required. Familiarity with EPIC charting, Pyxis medication system, Vocera, and Shift Wizard scheduling is necessary.
