This opportunity seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Emergency Room care to support an emergency center delivering comprehensive acute care services. The RN plays a vital role in patient assessment, administration of medications, and continuous monitoring of patient conditions within the emergency department setting. This position offers a contract assignment requiring a candidate who is not a previous employee of the facility and resides outside a specified local radius. Location: Situated in Auburn, ME, this emergency center provides exceptional care including a dedicated Chest Pain Center. Responsibilities: • Perform rapid and accurate patient assessments from admission through treatment • Administer IV medications, including blood products and therapy as prescribed • Provide patient education related to care, procedures, and discharge instructions • Document nursing care activities, observations, and patient responses thoroughly • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient outcomes Qualifications & Experience: • Required active RN licensure (candidates with licensure issues or prior employment at the facility will not be considered) • Minimum of 1 year experience in critical care or emergency nursing • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications Additional Details: • Orientation up to 16 hours unpaid • Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts within the 13-week contract • Local candidates within 50 miles ineligible; local travelers will receive adjusted pay rates This contract position is ideal for those seeking to apply their emergency nursing expertise in a focused, fast-paced environment.
