An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Emergency Department expertise to provide exceptional patient care in a rural critical access hospital setting. This contract position is based in Crane, MT, offering nurses the chance to engage in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where they deliver comprehensive emergency services to patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care including triage, assessment, treatment, and stabilization
• Respond promptly to trauma activations, urgent medical emergencies, and diverse urgent care needs
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions following established protocols
• Operate emergency equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and ventilators
• Collaborate closely with physicians, EMS, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and patient transfers
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records
• Educate patients and families on care plans and post-treatment instructions
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
• Current licensed RN in the practicing state or valid compact license
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and independent decision-making abilities
• Preferred experience in emergency, ICU, or acute care nursing
• Preferred Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications or willingness to obtain
• Experience in rural or critical access hospital environments is an asset
Physical & Work Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist patients as necessary
• Capability to perform effectively in a high-pressure emergency setting
• Potential on-call and callback duties
