A skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) is sought for a contract position at a Critical Access Hospital in Fairview, MT. Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency care to patients of all ages, including triage, assessment, treatment, and stabilization
• Respond promptly to trauma activations, medical emergencies, and urgent care needs
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency interventions according to protocols
• Operate and assist with emergency equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and ventilators
• Collaborate with physicians, EMS, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and transfers
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on care plans and follow-up procedures
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
• Current RN license in the state of Montana (or compact license)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred:
• Experience in emergency, ICU, or acute care nursing
• PALS and TNCC certification or willingness to obtain
• Experience in rural or critical access hospital environments
The physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, and moving patients as needed, as well as the capacity to manage high-stress emergency situations. On-call or callback duties may be required.
