Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) / Emergency Department (ED) Place Of Work (City/State) Site: Red Lake Indian Hospital – Red Lake, MN Location: 24760 Hospital Rd, Red Lake, MN 56671 Duration: 6 to 12 months contract Shift Schedule: All shifts may be required, including: • Day, Night, and Mid shifts • Weekends and Holidays • On-call (if applicable) Credentialing / Onboarding: 6 to 8 weeks License Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license, Any U.S. state license accepted Required Certifications • BLS (Basic Life Support) • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) Experience Required Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER) experience Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced emergency setting Special Skills & Competencies • Rapid triage and patient prioritization • Emergency assessment and stabilization • Trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and medical emergency response • IV insertion, medication administration, and blood product handling • Cardiac monitoring and emergency interventions • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Accurate and timely emergency documentation • Cultural sensitivity when working with American Indian / Alaska Native populations Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with emergency and urgent conditions • Perform rapid triage and ongoing patient assessments • Initiate emergency nursing interventions per standing orders and protocols • Administer medications, fluids, blood products, and treatments safely • Assist with trauma care, resuscitation, and emergency procedures • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to life-threatening changes • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary emergency teams • Prepare patients for diagnostic testing, admission, transfer, or discharge • Educate patients and families on care, treatment, and follow-up instructions • Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant clinical documentation • Adhere to infection control, safety, HIPAA, and IHS/federal regulations • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
