Job Description

The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse will work in a busy ER unit with 44 beds, including 3 trauma bays. The nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced environment, which includes low and high acuity patients.

Responsibilities
• Provide emergency care to patients with a variety of medical issues including belly pain, chest pain, altered mental status, and behavioral health concerns.
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Participate in team-based care and contribute to the overall efficiency of the department.
• Assist in triage as needed, understanding emergency care protocols and patient prioritization.
• Perform and document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EPIC).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
