Job Description
The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. This role involves accepting responsibility for the direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care. The nurse performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established FMC policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care of each patient according to the nursing process.
• Provide quality care based on assessment needs and established plan of care/pathway.
• Educate patients and families/significant others from admission through the discharge process.
• Document nursing process/pathway thoroughly, concisely, accurately, and legibly.
• Notify physicians of pertinent observations and changes in patient status.
• Administer medications and perform treatments accurately and safely.
• Implement physician orders as written and ensure equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Associate degree in nursing; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio.
• CPR certification required.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
