Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, every other weekend required. Holidays as needed. No on-call required.
Job Description
Our Emergency Department (ED) RNs must be ready to care for patients when they need us most. In addition to providing specialized and innovative services, we need our ED RNs to be equipped to handle an array of emergency situations for patients of all ages. Our Emergency Department (ED) nurses are trained in dealing with a variety of trauma situations requiring quick and decisive actions. Ideal prospective ED RNs must be able to quickly and accurately assess incoming patients with both physical and mental health conditions and prioritize their injuries and medical needs accordingly.
Responsibilities
• Provide care for patients in a fast-paced, high patient acuity Pediatric Emergency Department.
• Assess incoming patients and prioritize medical needs effectively.
• Float within the department, including Adult ED, Pediatric ED, and Intermediate Care Unit (IMC).
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience working in an ED environment.
• Recent Pediatric ED experience (within the past 6 months) required.
• BLS-AHA, ACLS-AHA, NIHSS, PALS-AHA certifications required.
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• 4 hours of stroke education required.
