Straight Nights: 7 PM – 7:30 AM; Every Other Weekend and Holiday.
Job Description
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate, and efficient care to patients in a fast-paced, dynamic emergency department setting. The ED RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, provides critical patient assessments, and ensures optimal outcomes while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ physical and emotional health.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
• Monitor and document patient responses to care and adjust plans as necessary.
• Provide education to patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.
• Triage patients effectively to prioritize care based on the severity of illness or injury.
• Assist in resuscitation, stabilization, and advanced life support procedures during emergencies.
• Operate and maintain emergency equipment, including defibrillators, monitors, and ventilators.
• Work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Communicate patient status, changes, and care plans clearly to team members and families.
• Adhere to established protocols, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay current with best practices.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Current RN license in the state of Ohio.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an emergency or critical care setting preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications preferred.
