Registered Nurse First Assist

Work location: 800 West Randol Mill Road Arlington, TX 76012 and/or 1301 Pennsylvania Ave Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Friday (Start time is around 7am)

• Will assist in Operating Room (working with joint replacement and Neurosurgeons)
Here's What You Need
• High School Diploma (REQUIRED)
• Associate degree Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing (REQUIRED) or
• Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing (PREFERRED)
• RN License and CRNFA Upon Hire (REQUIRED)
• Orthopedic Surgical Assisting experience (PREFERRED)
What You Will Do
• Plays a hands-on role in surgical procedures by controlling bleeding, suturing incisions and wounds and intervening if complications arise.
• Meets with patients and family members prior to the procedure to answer questions about the surgery, anesthesia and recovery including discharge instructions.
• Performs assessment of the patient's physical condition to identify problems that would make surgery too risky to proceed.
• Monitors patient's vital signs, including heart rate, respiration and pulse, alerting the physician if there are complications which need to be addressed.
• Evaluate the patient's condition following the procedure to determine appropriate time for transport to the recovery room.
• Assists the physician with rounds for all inpatients, performing dressing changes and evaluation and removal of sutures and staples.
• Participates in special projects and/or performs other duties as assigned.
