Description As a Forensic Nurse Specialist (FNS), you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive medical-forensic examinations to adult and adolescent patients who have experienced interpersonal violence, including sexual assault and domestic violence. You will be dedicated to providing individualized and high-quality nursing care that meets the specific needs of each patient, guided by the nursing process and the Alaska Nurse Practice Act. Your ability to assess and analyze patient information will be essential, as you will address various factors such as cognitive, physical, cultural, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, and developmental considerations. You will work in a high-stress environment that often involves sensitive issues related to both physical and psychological trauma, as well as substance use. Collaboration with law enforcement and advocacy agencies will be part of your responsibility, ensuring that all clients receive compassionate and effective care. Up to $10,000 hiring bonus available for eligible full-time external hires meeting required qualifications and payment conditions. Hours: Full Time Night Shift: (3) 12-hour shifts weekly. Part Time Night Shift: (2) 12-hour shifts weekly. Required Qualifications: • Graduation from an accredited nursing program. • Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire. • National Provider BLS certification - American Heart Association upon hire. • 1 year of nursing experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Current certification for 40-hour Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) upon hire. • 16-hour SANE Clinical Skills Lab (CSL training) upon hire. Why Join Providence?
