Job Description
The Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) is primarily responsible for maintaining clinic flow for patients and providers. The RN will serve as nursing coverage in the urology clinic, assisting healthcare providers with patient examinations, phone calls, treatments, and procedures as directed by the provider, within the scope of the professional license. Responsibilities include maintaining patient medical records and documentation, collecting and preparing specimens, and administering medications as ordered.
Responsibilities
• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Manage clinic flow to ensure efficient patient care.
• Document patient medical records accurately and timely.
• Collect and prepare specimens for testing.
• Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Handle patient phone calls and inquiries professionally.
• Maintain a positive and organized work environment.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Graduate of an accredited RN program or LPN.
• Current license in the state of Iowa.
• 3 years of clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred.
• Experience in acute care, home health nursing for cardiac or diabetic patients, or prior phone/ER/MD office triage preferred.
• Current AHA Heart Code BLS certification required (certification to be obtained within three months of hire).
• Membership in a professional organization or certification in a specialty is highly desired.
