Registered Nurse (RN) – Day Shift
Assignment Duration
This is an 8-week contract position.
Schedule
Day shift, 3×12 hour shifts.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The role is committed to patient and employee safety, following all guidelines, and promoting a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
• Performs nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identifies teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient.
• Provides patient information and status in a timely manner for team conferences.
• Participates in the patient rehabilitation program on an assigned unit.
• Initiates discharge planning on all patients from the day of admission.
• Communicates all pertinent information regarding changes in patient status.
• Provides direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintains communication with management regarding service needs.
• Assumes charge responsibility following orientation period as requested.
• Identifies and initiates professional growth through continuing education.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific location only).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
