Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the Select Medical Way and Core Values of the Company, which emphasize superior quality, treating others well, being results-oriented, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, creating individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnosis in collaboration with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and utilize the nursing process for direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching starting from the day of admission.
• Ensure effective communication of pertinent patient information among care providers.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel and maintain team dynamics to create a positive work environment.
• Assure safety and adherence to hospital policies in personal and environmental aspects.
• Manage supply and equipment needs in collaboration with senior staff.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed and pursue personal professional growth.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
